Hurricane Guard Single-Hung Window

Single-hung · Vinyl or aluminum

The workhorse of a South Florida retrofit. The bottom sash slides up; the top stays fixed. Fits the majority of bedroom and bathroom openings.

Hurricane Guard Picture Window

Fixed / picture · Vinyl or aluminum

A fixed pane with no sash to interrupt the view. The slimmest sightlines of the line and the strongest option for a large span.

Hurricane Guard Awning Window

Awning, top-hinged · Vinyl

Hinged at the top so it opens outward and sheds rain. The usual answer for a kitchen, a bathroom or a high opening you want to leave open in a shower.

Hurricane Guard Casement Window

Casement, side-hinged · Vinyl or aluminum

Hurricane Guard is a product line of CWS. Frame material, glass package and design pressure are specified per opening after we measure.

How it works

Five layers doing five different jobs

An impact window is not thicker glass. It is an engineered assembly, and every layer earns its place. Tap each one.

PVB interlayerThe heart of the system. A polyvinyl butyral membrane bonded between the panes under heat and pressure. When the glass breaks, the fragments stay stuck to it, so the opening never opens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Impact windows — questions we answer every day

What does "Miami-Dade NOA approved" mean?

A Notice of Acceptance is issued by Miami-Dade County after a product passes large and small missile impact and pressure cycling tests. It is the strictest standard in the country, and it is what your inspector verifies on site.

Will impact windows lower my energy bills?

Yes. Low-E glass and insulated units reduce solar heat gain, which is the single biggest driver of an air conditioning bill in South Florida.

Do impact windows really reduce noise?

Significantly. The laminated interlayer damps sound the way a car windshield does — traffic, aircraft and neighbors drop to a background you stop noticing.

Do you offer custom sizes and shapes?

Yes — arches, triangles, circles and fully custom openings are all available, measured and ordered to your exact specification.
