Shutters
Shutters that close
in minutes, not hours.
Accordion, roll-down and storm panel systems, measured per opening and installed by our own crews. The practical way to protect a whole house without replacing every window.
The three systems
Which shutter fits the opening

Accordion Shutters
Permanently mounted beside the opening and pulled across on a track when a storm is named. The most common choice for a full house because nothing has to be carried or stored.
- Stays on the building year-round
- Closes by hand in seconds per opening
- Lockable from inside for security
- Best cost per opening on a whole-home job

Roll-Down Shutters
Housed in a headbox above the opening and lowered with a crank or a motor. The least visible system when open and the fastest to close on a large elevation.
- Manual crank or motorised operation
- Blocks light and heat completely when down
- Adds everyday privacy and sound damping
- Ideal for tall or hard-to-reach openings

Storm Panels
Corrugated aluminium or clear polycarbonate panels that bolt into tracks before a storm and come off afterwards. The lowest upfront cost per opening.
- Lowest investment of the three systems
- Clear panels keep daylight during a storm
- Stores flat in a garage between seasons
- Needs labour and storage each season
Compare
Accordion, roll-down or panels
All three meet code when installed to their approval. The difference is what happens the week a storm is named.

Straight answers
What owners ask about shutters
Do shutters qualify for the same insurance credit as impact windows?
Shutters normally qualify a Florida home for wind mitigation credits, but the credit is usually smaller than for impact-rated windows and doors, because protection depends on someone closing them. Your carrier and your wind mitigation report set the actual number.
Can I mix shutters and impact windows in the same house?
Very often that is the right answer. People put impact windows where they matter most for comfort, noise and resale, and shutters on the rest. We price it either way so you can see the difference before deciding.
How long does an installation take?
Manufacturing runs four to eight weeks depending on the system and the finish. Installation itself is usually one to three days for an average home, on a date we fix before we start.
Do roll-down shutters work in a power cut?
Yes. Motorised roll-downs include a manual override, and we show you how to use it at handover. It is the first thing we walk through, because a storm and a power cut tend to arrive together.
